title James G. Hale Housedescription Designed by George W. Morgan and built in 1887, this home was declared an historic monument by the Los Angeles Cultural Heritage Board in June 1966. It is called an "outstanding example of the late Victorian period in Los Angeles and embodies the essence of most of the typical features of this historic style." It was first located at 4501 North Figueroa (originally Pasadena Avenue), then moved to 4425 N. Figueroa. In 1970, it was moved to Heritage Square Museum in Montecito Heights, shown here. One of the gutsiest Mexican-American champs, the junior lightweight fought the best--including Danny "Little Red" Lopez. Ruben Olivares, and Alexis Arguello; the finale of Chacon's epic four-fight set with Rafael "Bazooka" Limon (shown here during their third fight) is remembered as one of the great brawls in boxing history.
